Club Inundated

On Wednesday 29th September, a massive storm cell hit Oakbank and surrounding areas, bringing torrential rain, resulting in our green and club-rooms being flooded.  Club Secretary Trevor Norman was on-site as it happened, and could but watch as the rising waters entered the building at all doorways.  There has been extensive damage inside the club, and while the green was under 20cm of water, no serious damage is evident at this stage.

Carpet was removed on Friday, but an event scheduled for Saturday has had to be cancelled.

Insurance assessors attended on Friday, it is hoped that all damage will be covered, however it is possible that repairs may impact our normal operations.  With the Pennant season commencing in just 2 weeks, we have a lot of cleaning up to do!
